During this season of Advent as we approach Christmas, ask yourself the question: How can I love like Jesus over these next few weeks?
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2 (NLT)
Jesus loved you so very much he entered the world as a sacrifice for your sin! That is incredible, boundless love, the love of God for us.
How can we share that love with others? What can you do, what can I do, to imitate God’s love as his dear children?
- Maybe God would put it on your heart to do an act of kindness for someone else.
- Maybe God wants you to give a gift to a person who is in need.
- Might God open the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with one in your life?
Whatever it might be, ask God to help you follow his example of love. God will open up the opportunity to act in love toward another, just as Jesus has done for you. What a grand and wonderful way to imitate God’s love at Christmas.
